Stamp a card (any theme or use the suggested theme on the mailing schedule. I don't have birthdays for people, so birthday cards are not needed. Anyone can make cards as long as it has a least one stamp on it.
Card size must be 5-1/2 by 4-1/4 inches, no larger or smaller. This would be a quarter of a full sheet of paper 8-1/2x11 inches.
You MUST sign your name to the inside of the card. You may add a note if you wish. Soldiers like to hear about you, your family, where you come from or to receive a word of thanks for the job they do. (No blank cards will be sent to soldiers)
NO store bought cards will be mailed to soldiers. Store bought cards will not be sent to the soldiers or returned to the sender (due to postage costs.) The cards will be thrown away.
Send hand stamped cards to me with an unsealed envelope. Please do not put cards in envelopes unless you have more than one of the same type cards. Leave one card out for scanning purposes. I will be scanning your cards to add to the AS4S gallery. In addition, the scanned cards will also be added to the StampArtSearch database. All cards will have the artist's name or stamp group/club's name on the web site.
Each card will have a note put in each envelope that will tell the soldier a little about AS4S and give the web site information. If you would like to print this note and include it with your cards before you mail them to me, please email Carol for a copy of the form.
Address card to "any soldier" on the front of the envelope. If it's specific for a female or male please indicate. This will help with distribution.
Be sure to include your email address on a separate note so I can let you know they arrived.
When using dark cardstock for the card, please use inks that can be seen when writing messages or stamping images/text to the inside of the card. White, gold and silver pens work well for signing cards. Or use white text weight paper to write your note on the inside of the card.
Please do not add potpourri or perfume to the cards/box/envelope. I have allergies and the odors can cause me problems. The may be true for the soldiers receiving the card. Thank you.
Be sure to put enough postage on your packages so it does not arrive postage due. Packages that arrive postage due will be returned to sender. You do NOT have to put postage on the individual cards...but you DO have to pay for the postage to mail your box of cards to AS4S.
